Company called me to do a service call for regular maintenance on a system less than 1 year old. First service call was around $400 which was steep but I noticed they charged like $130 to change the air filter. Ok, I will tell them not to do that next time. When they called to do the service call I pointed out that there was a zoned tstat that was not functioning properly and neded to be changed. This is what they charged me:. $180 to change the t-stat that was still under warranty. Had it not been under warranty the tstat with install would ha . . . [More]

After waiting longer than I ought to have after noticing sometimes a gas smell outside of my condo I called the gas company to inspect. They went to read the exhaust from the furnace (outside) then came in to turn off the gas to the furnace after that reading. Then the guy had the thought because he had â€noticed a pattern with high efficiency appliances †to check my hot water heater exhaust (exhausts into a completely separate area) and it was also reading gas in the exhaust (again outside, no readings inside thank goodness.).
